EXPERIENCE
Rhys began his career in employment relations at the Workplace Authority where he was responsible for assessing agreements made under the WorkChoices legislation. He later worked as an Inspector for the Fair Work Ombudsman, a role that involved both educating businesses and ensuring they were compliant with their workplace obligations. Moving to the private sector, Rhys worked in the recruitment and labour hire industry, providing advice on a wide range of employment matters.
Joining ABLA in 2012, Rhys started in the Workplace Advice Line where he offered practical assistance to businesses of all sizes. In 2018 he moved to the Workplace practice group and he was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW later that year.
Rhys enjoys collaborating with clients to identify and implement creative solutions to their workplace issues. Having worked on a number of high-profile matters, he understands the need for timely resolutions whilst also managing commercial and reputational considerations.
